Trauma and stress to the body is a leading cause of neck pain. But the most common cause of acute neck pain is whiplash, and if left untreated can lead into chronic neck pain. Chronic neck pain usually occurs due to untreated injuries and poor posture (ex. Sitting at a desk working on a computer 8 hours a day).

Low Back Pain

The younger the individual is the more important it is to get their spine checked.

The sciatic nerve in the longest nerve in the body; it starts in the low back, courses through the pelvic area, through the hip and buttocks, and down the back of the leg. Pain, numbness, tingling and burning sensations have been known to radiate along its course. Vertebral misalignment, pelvic or sacral misalignment, herniated discs or inflammations of muscles in the area are the most common causes of sciatica. See what Dr. Barker has to say about Sciatica. Hip pain can sometimes be referred pain or due to a misalignment of the spine or the hip joint itself. Misalignments of the low back often trigger hip discomfort. It only takes one misaligned vertebra to launch a chain reaction, causing misalignment in the pelvis, hips, and the rest of the low body.
The speed of the impact does not predict the risk of whiplash injury. Any accident even minor “fender-benders” can cause serious conditions and issues. Latest research says that accidents that occur between 5 and 10 mph are enough to cause double whiplash. Pain can develop months or years after the accident.

Arthritis is preventable. Although arthritis affects million, there is a drug-free alternative. Chiropractic adjustments correct misalignments of the body’s joint. When joints are misaligned, it causes stress on the joint. In response, motion is restricted, bone spurs form and tension on surrounding spinal cord and nerves occurs. As the bones wear out it interferes with and damages the nerves going to different organs of the body. A study in Journal of Medical Association concluded that height loss (≥3 cm) in older men is independently associated with an increased risk of all-cause mortality and coronary heart disease.
